A Carseland woman who is accused of assisting in a home invasion three years ago, that took the life of her brother, changed her plea in a Calgary courtroom on Wednesday.

Angela Eriksen suddenly changed her plea to guilty to assault causing bodily harm and in return, prosecutors dropped the break and enter charge against her.

Eriksen is accused of being party to an assault on her ex-boyfriend, Dan Olineck.

The charges stem from a break and enter in 2008 that resulted in her brother being stabbed to death.

Court heard that Eriksen met with her brother, Lance Norton, and another man, Christopher Hansen, in a lounge and discussed roughing up Olinek.

A friend of Eriksen's, Rita Kruger, testified that the three then went to outfit themselves with masks and drove to Olineck's home. Under cross examination Kruger admitted she was worried she'd be charged as well because they used her car.

The men broke into Olineck's Langdon home where he and his girlfriend were sleeping.

During the attack, Olineck defended himself with a knife, stabbing Eriksen's brother to death and seriously injuring Hansen.

Dan Olineck took the stand on Monday to recount the terrifying attack.

Christopher Joel Hansen is currently serving a seven year sentence for his part in the incident.
