Youth in serious condition after southwest Calgary crash
Three people are in hospital, including one in serious condition, after a Friday morning crash in the southwest Calgary community of Belmont.
At about 7:40 a.m., Calgary police responded to 210 Avenue and Belmont Drive S.W. after a youth was hit by a vehicle.
Police say the victim was taken to Alberta Children's Hospital in serious condition.
An adult and a child inside the vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Clarissa Go has lived in Belmont for a couple of months and says her children walk across this intersection to get to school.
"Everyday when they cross that intersection I feel really scared for them," she said.
"I always remind them to look around, you know, left and right, their back, and I tell them to not use their phones while crossing the intersection."
She recalls a two-vehicle crash happened at the same spot last month.
