A Bassano woman says she's sick and tired of people taking potshots at what she calls the Alberta way of life so she's fighting back with a Facebook campaign promoting beef, oil, and rodeo.

Tayla Fraser launched the Facebook group and is selling bumper stickers that say "Eat cow. Drill oil. Rope calves. Welcome to Alberta" to promote the cowboy lifestyle.

The initiative is in response to campaigns launched this month criticizing the Stampede and oil sands.

The online campaign has taken on a life of its own and so far the Facebook page has over 1600 members.

"We never thought it would come to anything like this, we thought it would be a few friends meeting, sharing links, sharing discussions and it's exploded in two weeks," said Fraser.

Fraser is expanding her campaign to include a line of t-shirts with the distinctly Alberta slogan.

Bumper stickers can be purchased from the groups Facebook page for $5.
