Calgary’s Ward 13 councillor under fire for absences from important issues

Diane Colley-Urquhart is drawing criticism for missing a number of key debates at Calgary City Hall, including one over a motion on the southwest BRT that she co-sponsored.

Colley-Urquhart, who is on vacation in Antarctica, also missed the vote on the Olympic bid and will likely miss next week’s budget deliberations too.

The Manning Foundation says that up until now, the Ward 13 councillor’s attendance has been very good. The agency is concerned that her continued absence, especially during budget talks, will mean that her constituents won’t be heard.
