A Calgary woman is facing charges in an attempted vehicle theft in the southeast community of Cranston.

In the early hours of November 24, 2015, a Ford F350 was stolen on Cranfield Manor S.E. The suspects collided with a nearby vehicle and fled the scene.

The owner discovered the truck at about 7:30 am and called police. He could not turn off the engine due to damage caused in the crash. While he was waiting for police, a women got into the truck and started driving away. The owner saw the truck spin out and get stuck in a neighbour’s driveway. She fled the scene and was apprehended by police trying to get into yet another vehicle.

It’s not known if the woman was connected to the first attempt to steal the truck.

Kayla Lynn-Ann Russell, 28, is charged with theft and a number of other charges.
