A woman was transported to hospital following an early morning stabbing at the hands of a man she allegedly knows.
According to police, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers were called to a business near the intersection of 8 Ave. and 52 St. S.E. following reports of an injured woman.
Emergency crews located a woman suffering from a stab wound to her head. MS transported the woman to hospital in non-life threatening condition.
Investigators determined the injuries were sustained during a domestic incident and identified the suspect. CPS members, including the K9 Unit, scoured the neighbouring communities for the suspect.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., police apprehended the man in the backyard of a home on Forest Way S.E.
The unidentified suspect remains in police custody. Officers have not released the nature of the relationship between the victim and suspect.
Police continue to investigate the incident. Charges are pending.
