Members of the Innisfail RCMP detachment have arrested and charged a 30-year-old woman in connection to a summer robbery at a business in a central Alberta town.

In the early hours of August 7, a masked man entered the Centex gas station in Penhold, Alberta and demanded cash from the lone employee. The female worker complied with the suspect’s demands and the culprit left without incident.

An RCMP investigation into the robbery determined the store clerk was ‘complicit in the execution of the crime and a party to the offence’.

The woman, a 30-year-old resident of Penhold, has been charged as an accomplice to the theft. RCMP have not released the employee’s identity.

Police continue to search for the male suspect and are asking for anyone with information about the theft to contact the Innisfail RCMP detachment at 403-227-3342.

The male suspect is expected to face charges of theft under $5,000 and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence.
