A local agency that has been helping women for 40 years has launched a new website aimed at offering support and counselling services to men who are concerned they are hurting those they love.

The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter sees over 12,000 people each year who are facing family violence and abuse and offers women and children a safe haven and programs to help them heal.

The agency also has a program for men and launched the Men’s Counselling Service website to reach out to those who are worried that their behaviours are hurting those close to them and who want to make changes to improve their relationships.

The counselling service is free and allows men to discuss their concerns with professional counsellors who specialize in abuse and anger management issues. The program also provides support and counselling for partners.
