Lethbridge Police say they have arrested and charged a third suspect in an assault and confinement case involving an 18-year-old woman.

On August 20, police were notified about a woman who had been admitted to the Chinook Regional Hospital with extensive, non-life-threatening injuries.

They learned that the night before, the victim was with an acquaintance on a drive and was taken to a farm outside of Lethbridge. Soon after, two other women arrived and the trio began assaulting the woman.

The attack lasted several hours, after which she was driven back to the city.

Two women, Samantha Rose Ann Oldenburger, 24, and Chanel Leece Umpherville, 19, both of Coalhurst, were arrested and charged on Wednesday.

The third suspect, Cherise Gail Bruno, 22, of Lethbridge, was arrested and charged on August 21.

All three are facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful confinement, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, and robbery.

They are expected to appear in court on Friday.
