Police say they have arrested a man wanted in the United States.

On Tuesday afternoon, Matthew David Parker was taken into custody in the Shawnessy area.

Parker is wanted in Indiana for criminal confinement, failure to register as a sex offender, and violation of his probation.

The confinement charge stems from Parker's job as a bounty hunter.

On Thursday, the Immigration Board held a hearing for Parker and decided to detain and deport him.

The board also heard about a previous conviction for fraud in Minnesota which was not disclosed and would make Parker inadmissible to move to Canada.

U.S. Marshals tracked Parker down with the help of his personal emails.

Parker did not fight his deportation, saying he wanted to return to the U-S to fight the charges.
