Hundreds of southern Alberta artists have worked together to create a unique fundraiser to help flood victims.
The Alberta Flood Rose Project put out the call to Calgary and area artists to create and donate an original piece of wall art that depicts our provincial flower, the wild rose.
The artists came through and now over 450 visual art pieces will be displayed around the downtown until the end of the month.
The works will then be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to the Red Cross for flood relief.
“It started out as an idea to raise money for flood victims. As artists we're often asked to donate to things and if we donate a single piece it'll help a little bit but I thought if we had a lot of pieces we could make a really big difference that way,” said Project Organizer Terri Heinrichs.
