Crash leads to arrest in connection with stolen vehicle: P.E.I. RCMP

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after police connected a single-vehicle crash in Elmsdale, P.E.I., to a stolen vehicle.

West Prince RCMP responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a telephone pole around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Police say officers learned the vehicle had been stolen and the driver fled on foot.

“Police located him a short distance away. He was treated for minor injuries and arrested,” said Cpl. Gavin Moore, in a news release from the RCMP.

The man was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Summerside provincial court on Feb. 5.
