A 12-year-old boy was killed in a head-on crash in Rogers Pass that injured four others on Friday morning.
RCMP closed Highway 1 in both directions near the summit for several hours to investigate the crash.
Police say the child was in a truck with another child and two adults when a car collided with them head-on.
RCMP say the fatal collision happened at about 10:00 a.m. and that road conditions were slushy at the time of the crash.
All of the injured were airlifted to hospitals in the area in serious condition.
The highway has since been reopened.
