Calgary police need your help to find a truck because police are worried about the child, believed to be a passenger, in what they're calling a suspicious vehicle.
It began around 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning in McKenzie Towne when an officer noticed a truck stopped at the curb facing west on the inside land of a roundabout.
The officer pulled over, activated his lights to alert area traffic, walked to the truck and that’s when he noticed a young girl, about 13 years old, in the front passenger seat who appeared visibly upset.
The vehicle took off when the officer asked the driver to roll down a window.
The truck travelled westbound on Mackenzie Boulevard, then north on the QEII, before taking the off ramp for 130 Avenue eastbound.
This is where it struck a car waiting for a pedestrian to cross and left the scene heading eastbound on 130 Avenue Southeast.
The truck is described as a dirty, blue, Dodge Ram with a dirt-covered B.C. license plate.
The first letter in the license plate is believed to be a D and the truck will have front-end damage from the collision.
The driver is described as a white female, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, with long dirty-blonde hair and a slender build.
Calgary police want to make sure the child in the truck is alright and want to speak to the driver.
If you have any information about where the truck is and who the people inside it are you’re asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8744 or www.calgarycrimestoppers.org.
