GoFundMe raises more than $86K for 3 Lethbridge children struck while crossing street

A GoFundMe in support of three children who were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street Monday morning has now raised more than $86,000 in a little over two days.

The collision took place in Lethbridge at the intersection of 13 Avenue and 23 Street North just after 7:30 a.m. .

Police say three children, ages 14, seven and five were crossing the street to get to their school bus when they were hit.

All three were taken to hospital in Calgary for treatment.

According to an update on the Bucud family GoFundMe page, nurses have started assisting the eldest child with sitting and standing.

One daughter has been moved from the ICU to regular care and will be a minimum six-to-12-month recovery.

The other daughter is recovering with minor injuries.

The family is incredibly grateful for all the support, both financially and emotionally.
