A new advertising campaign from Tourism Calgary is reassuring potential visitors to the Stampede City that Calgary is ready to host the world.
The advertisements, which will air across Canada on radio, television, newspapers and online, focus on the fact that the majority of Calgary’s attractions, restaurants, hotels and festivals are open for business after the devastating floods of June.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi is featured prominently in the campaign.
“Our community was pushed down, and we are pulling her back up. You’ll want to see what this community has accomplished,” says Nenshi. “You’ll get a chance to experience the energy of these streets, our great festivals, events and experiences. Summer is the time you want to be here. Come and visit Calgary, our doors are open.”
“We’re excited for visitors to experience everything Calgary has to offer. Our hotels and restaurants are open. More shops and attractions are opening every day. Our western hospitality is at its best and our experiences are ready. Yes, Calgary’s doors are open,” says Tourism Calgary CEO, Cindy Ady.
Tourism is a key factor in Calgary’s economy, with the summer tourism season contributing $1.4 billion to local business.
