It was a tremendous hockey experience for a Croatian Bantam hockey team that competed in an exhibition tournament in Calgary.
The KHL Mladost team was in our city for a week.
The team played seven exhibition games and won all of them.
One of the players, Marko Marojevic says, “It was great.”
Patrik Dobric scored 12 goals in seven games and says it was awesome. “It was a nice experience being in a hockey country, staying with the families and playing games with Canadians.“
The boys and their families gathered at the Calgary International Airport Thursday night to prepare to fly back home.
The KHL Mladost team was welcomed and embraced in every hockey Calgary community they played in.
Team liaison Sasha Frame says the whole tournament went above and beyond what anyone could have predicted. “Kevin Kobelka with Hockey Calgary was amazing. The amount of games he was able to set up in a short amount of time was phenomenal.”
KHL Mladost even attended a Calgary Flames game.
They watched the Flames beat the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday night.
