The Drumheller Institution has been locked down.
The action was taken Friday following tips that drugs and contraband tobacco had made their way into the federal prison.
Guards continue to search cells and common areas for drugs, tobacco, and other illegal items.
The prison will remain in lockdown until management can determine it's safe to reopen.
