It’s goodbye for the elephants at the Calgary Zoo.  Swarna, Kamala, and Maharani will soon be headed toward their new home at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington D.C.

The elephants are getting a special good bye, which includes what the zookeepers call enrichment moments such as swimming.

The zoo decided to move the elephants because it no longer felt the current enclosures met modern standards and expectations.

Calgarians are also invited to say good bye.  There are several farewell celebrations on the weekend of April 5 & 6, and the weekend of April 12 & 13.
