Calgary fire crews were called out to a two alarm fire at a facility near the airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the UPS building on Aero Drive N.E. at about 4:00 p.m. for reports that a package with unknown contents was leaking smoke or vapour.

Crews found the package in a compartment of a semi tractor-trailer unit that was parked near the building.

Fire officials say the package and vapour ignited prompting the call for a second alarm.

Crews doused the fire and were able to keep it from spreading.

Damage was contained to the truck but the warehouse exterior was also scorched.

Two employees were assessed for injuries by AHS.

Fire and Hazardous Materials crews contained the scene and CPS helped to direct traffic.
