Calgarians itching for some on-stage entertainment since the flooding in late June will soon have their wish as details of two concerts were announced on Monday.
The Halo High Water Benefit Concert and Telethon will be on August 4 at the Southern Jubilee Auditorium.
The concert will be raising funds in support of the Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund and features an all-star country lineup of performers.
Performers include: Susan Aglukark, Paul Brandt, Dean Brody, George Canyon, Jum Cuddy, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Brett Kissel and a variety of First Nations talent.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday, July 20.
Alberta Flood Aid will be at McMahon Stadium and will feature performances from Jann Arden, Randy Bachman, Tom Cochrane, Matthew Good, Colin James, Loverboy, Corb Lund, Johnny Reid, The Sadies, The Sheepdogs and Ian Tyson.
The concert will be hosted by comedian Brent Butt and will be on Thursday, August 15, 2013.
“I am very pleased to see members of the music community donating their time and resources to raise money for flood relief,” said Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi.
Tickets start at $30 and will go on sale at Ticketmaster on Friday, July 19.
The concert gets underway at 6:00 p.m. and Ticketmaster is waiving service fees for the event.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund.
