Police say grow-ops are getting harder to detect.

"They do know signs we look for and that lack of care to property is definitely something that stands out," says Sgt. Keight Hurley from the Calgary Police Service.

Each bust requires a lot of police work because growers are working harder to cover their tracks.

Just last week, police seized a record number of plants for a home in the community of West Springs. Neighbours had no idea the home was a grow-op because the growers went to great lengths to blend into the neighbourhood - they even put up Christmas lights and a Christmas tree.

Police in Calgary have seized more than $60-million worth of marijuana this year.
