Calgary Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run Wednesday night, that has left a man fighting for his life in hospital.

Investigators say the man and his brother were leaving a northeast bar when the victim was mowed down by a vehicle traveling at an excessive high rate of speed.

The impact sent the victim flying several metres into the air.

Police say the vehicle, believed to be a silver KIA Sedona came careening through the parking lot at the Big Easy gentlemen's club when it struck the 32-year-old man.

It happened just after 7 o'clock in the 3200 block of 32nd Avenue northeast.

The victim's brother was not hurt but police say he was so shaken by the incident he was unable to give police many details about what happened.

Paramedics rushed the victim to the Foothills Hospital in critical life threatening condition, where he remains in very grave condition.

Police told reporters at the scene it would be a miracle if the victim survived.

It's believed three people were in the offending vehicle that left the scene.

Police say the victim and his brother and the trio in the offending vehicle were in the bar at the same time.

There is no indication at this time there was an earlier altercation between the two groups that could have provoked the hit and run.

Investigators say they are looking at surveillance video and are talking to a number of witnesses.

They are looking for a silver KIA Sedona with significant front end damage.
