Authorities in the United States confirm 20 year old Jamison Childress was killed while trying to sneak across the border.

Dan Harris Jr, who is a Blain Sector Chief Patrol Agent, says Childress assaulted a border control agent before being shot.

“The subject refused the agents commands then assaulted one of the agents with an unknown incapacitating spray the agent then responded by discharging his service issued weapon fatally striking the individual,” said Dan Harris Jr.

Friends of Childress tell CTV News, they believe he was on the run for a murder here in Calgary when he was killed Thursday.

Many of Walker’s friends are making the same allegations on social media, with the hashtag “Justice for Brando”.

18 year old Walker was found murdered on the Tsuu T’ina Reserve, along the Bow River March 7th by some fishermen.

His body was partially burned.

RCMP won’t confirm the Childress-Walker connection, but say their major crimes unit is aware of Childress’ death and they are looking into his background.

U-S officials, won’t confirm the connection either.

Childress does have ties to both B.C. and Alberta and was wanted in B.C. for mischief and assault.
