Nick Rasberry, the 30-year-old Calgary man accused in the death of Craig Kelloway, appeared in court on Wednesday morning.

Rasberry’s lawyer, Alain Hepner, adjourned the hearing to gather more information. Rasberry appeared via closed circuit television.

31-year-old Kelloway was stabbed to death near his home in Auburn Bay on Saturday night.

Police say he was taking part in a neighbourhood barbecue when he met Rasberry, a neighbour, for the first time.

He later went over to Rasberry’s home where an argument took place and Kelloway was stabbed.

He died at the scene.

Rasberry is facing second degree murder charges in connection with the death.

He is expected back in court on May 23.

Craig Kelloway is Calgary's eighth murder of 2013.
