Residents in the community of Kingsland in southwest Calgary are fed up with fires in the neighbourhood.

Residents say it’s more than an annoyance and the series of fires in dumpsters is no coincidence. Some residents believe an arsonist is back in business.

Tony Fairbrass, the condo manager where two of the four fires occurred says there was dumpster fire just a week ago.

And he adds, two summers ago it happened every single Friday for six weeks.

Fairbrass hopes the Arson Unit makes some headway in the investigation “because everybody worries about it being more than a hut, somebody's backyard, somebody's house.”

Calgary police say it is probable that fires set early Saturday morning are linked and investigators are working to see how the recent fires may be connected to other fires in the past.
