Beginning Friday evening at 10:00 p.m., all lanes of eastbound Memorial Drive will be closed above Deerfoot Trail while crews pour the bridge’s concrete deck.
The traffic closure is expected to remain in place until 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured south onto Deerfoot Trail to the Blackfoot Trail/17 Ave S.E overpass. Motorists may choose to continue east on 17 Ave. S.E. or proceed north on Deerfoot Trail where they can resume their travel eastbound on Memorial Drive.
The posted speed limit through the construction zone approaching the lane closures will be reduced to 30 kilometres per hour until Sunday morning. Speeding fines are doubled for infractions in construction zone.
During the closure, there will be no access to eastbound Memorial Drive from southbound Deerfoot Trail.
Westbound Memorial Drive will not be impacted by the paving.
