Police in Airdrie have arrested one man and are looking for another following last Sunday’s shooting outside a fitness centre.

The 39 year old victim was shot three times but is expected to make a full recovery.

This afternoon, RCMP, with the help of Calgary police, arrested 35 year old Michael Sharman of Calgary during a traffic stop near the intersection of Crowfoot Crescent and Crowfoot Road.

Sharman faces several charges including aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a weapon, assault, and uttering threats.

The RCMP has also obtained an arrest warrant for 21 year old Mathew Van Schiak.

Police say Van Schiak may be operating a gold 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, with Alberta plate BRX 3441 and driving east from Alberta.

He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

RCMP say if you see him do not approach him and call 9-1-1.
