RCMP have charged three people in connection with the alleged shooting of a wild horse near Sundre.

Jason Nixon, 29, and Earl Anderson, 40, have been charged with a two offences including willfully killing cattle and the use of a firearm in a careless manner.  A 13-year-old male has also been charged.

All three are from the Sundre area and police say charges are also pending against a 35-year-old Calgary man.

Police say the charges stem from a single instance of an alleged shooting. But several feral horses have been killed in the Sundre area in the past few years and police continue to investigate those cases.

"We believe that there is a group of individuals that are doing these shooting of horses. This particular set of charges are only connected to one single incident but we are certainly investigating all the other ones," says Sgt. Patrick Webb

Nixon has also been charged with assault, utterting threats, and obstructing a Fish and Wildlife officer who was investigating the incident.
