Escaped Bowden inmate captured after 19 weeks on the lam

Officials with the Bowden Institution confirm Sylvain Martin, the 50-year-old inmate who escaped on April 16, 2015, has been apprehended in Quebec.

According to John McKill, the Bowden Institution’s assistant warden of management services, Martin was arrested late Wednesday evening by the Sûreté du Québec of Drummondville.

Correctional Service Canada has launched an investigation into Martin’s escape.
