Friends and family gathered in Calgary at the Centre Street Church to remember a young woman who was murdered last week.

A funeral service was held for Lacey Jones-McKnight on Thursday afternoon.

Jones-Mcknight, 20, was found dead inside a car belonging to her ex-fiancé, Kristopher "Tray" Guenther, along Country Hills Blvd. N.E. on October 25.

Guenther was located by police near the vehicle trying to hang himself from a bridge.

He has been charged with second degree murder in connection to Jones-McKnight’s death.

Guenther made his first court appearance by CCTV on Wednesday and will undergo a 30 day psychiatric assessment.

He will appear in court again on November 26 to answer to the charges.
