Northbound and southbound Highway 2 traffic has resumed between the Aldersyde and Okotoks overpasses following numerous Monday morning crashes related to poor driving conditions.

Motorists were rerouted to Highway 2A during the closure.

EMS spokesperson Adam Loria says EMS crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision shortly after 11:00 a.m.. Approximately 15 patients were assessed at the crash location. The most severely injured person was transported to local hospital in critical condition. The nature of the patient's injuries and their age have not been released.

According to RCMP officials, road conditions in the vicinity are very slippery. Motorists are asked to drive with caution as precipitation continues to fall near Okotoks, High River and surrounding areas.
