Drivers in southeast Calgary will be coming across a bit of a delay next week as they move along Deerfoot Trail in the area of Highway 22X.

The delay is because of finishing work planned for the bridge to extend Stoney Trail in the area.

It will last from July 22 to August 3, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During the closure, Deerfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction from north of Seton Blvd. S.E./196 Ave. to Stoney Trail/Highway 22X.

Speed limits are reduced to 50 km/h on Deerfoot Trail.

All work will be conducted throughout the night to reduce impact on drivers.

Everyone who is traveling through the area is being reminded to obey all flagpersons, signs, and signals.

The southeast section of Stoney Trail, priced at $769M, is expected to be completed in the fall.
