Police in Lethbridge are putting the word out about a high-risk sex offender who is wanted for breaching the conditions of his release.

Police say William Vincent “Vinnie” Palmer, 23, poses a significant risk of harm to the community and in particular to young girls.

Palmer is on Statutory Release and currently lives in Lethbridge after serving two-thirds of a three-year jail term for four counts of sexual assault against preteen and teenage girls between January 2007 to June 2009.

Police say he has a history of sexually assaulting girls and that his file suggests he is a high-risk to re-offend against female children under the age of 16.

Release conditions required Palmer to reside at a specific residence as well as a prohibition from being in the presence of any female under 18 unless accompanied by a responsible adult who is aware of his criminal history and has previously been approved by his parole supervisor.

Police say he did not return to his approved residence and he is currently unlawfully at large.

Lethbridge police say they are issuing the warning in the interests of public safety.

Anyone with information on Palmer’s whereabouts is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
