Members of the Airdrie RCMP detachment are hunting for two potentially armed-and-dangerous suspects following an early morning shooting that sent one man to hospital.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a location outside of a fitness centre on Mackenzie Way following reports of gunshots. An injured man, suffering from several bullet wounds, was located and transported to hospital in serious, but non-life threatening condition.

RCMP members believe the shooting occurred following a verbal exchange between the victim, who was travelling on foot, and the occupants of a passing vehicle. The suspect vehicle is described as a light coloured, larger sized Subaru.

The two occupants of the vehicle are described as Caucasian males believed to be in their early twenties.

The suspects are considered armed-and-dangerous and members of the public are asked not to confront the men.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the identities of the suspects is asked to contact the Airdrie RCMP detachment, 403-945-7267, or Crime Stoppers
