A Calgary Police officer has been charged in connection with an incident that is alleged to have happened when the officer was off-duty.

On December 22, 2007 police responded to a report of disturbance in a bar in the Kensington area allegedly involving an off-duty officer.

The allegations were investigated and the results were forwarded to the Edmonton Crown Prosecutor's office for review.

As a result, 41-year old Constable Darwin Pearce was charged with one count of assault and one count of uttering threats in connection with an incident that happened.

Pearce is currently on leave without pay.
