A man who was found dead in a vehicle in Pineridge on the weekend has been identified as 20-year-old Steven Sharda.

On Saturday, police responded to a call about multiple shots fired in the 5300 block of Rundlehorn Drive NE at about 3:45 a.m.

Officers found two men in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

Sharda was pronounced dead at the scene and a second man was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

An autopsy confirmed Sharda died as a result of the shooting.

Police say they have not been able to talk to the second man because of his condition but say they believe the two men were targeted.

“We believe it was a targeted attack, that the people responsible knew the victims,” said S/Sgt. Doug Andrus, of the CPS Homicide Unit. “He’s in critical condition at this point. He has been stabilized but we’re waiting for an opportunity to conduct the interview."
