The rivalry for this year's Labour Day Classic is getting a little nasty even before the teams hit the field.

Some Calgary Stampeder fans have taken an obvious dislike to a Crowchild Tr. billboard bought by the Edmonton Eskimos.

The sign which depicted an Eskimo fan riding atop of a Stampeder fan was defaced Friday evening. Vandals wrote a large font, three word message, complete with spelling error, across the sign.

While some might call it art, others are calling it vandalism.

The billboard, located outside of McMahon stadium, was meant to revive the rivalry between the two teams.

The Labour Day Classic goes Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with first place in the CFL's West on the line.
