Calgary police continue to investigate a Tuesday afternoon crash in the city’s northwest that claimed one life.  Officers are asking for witnesses who may have seen the three vehicles in the moments leading up the deadly crash to come forward.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m., along 16 Ave. near the University Dr. off ramp and involved a blue pickup truck, a red pickup truck and a Pontiac Aztec.

Anyone with information about the way the vehicles were being operated prior to the collision is asked to contact Calgary Police.

One person injured in the crash has been released from hospital.  The identity of the deceased has not been released at the request of the victim’s family.

The three vehicle crash prompted the closure of a section of 16 Avenue near McMahon Stadium for several hours. Speed and alcohol have been ruled out as contributing factors.
