Two teenagers are facing charges after a man was attacked and stabbed in the neck outside a liquor store in the city's southeast.

Just after 9 p.m. Monday, a 24-year-old man was walking near 42nd Street and 17th Avenue SE when he was approached by two men who asked him for cigarettes and drugs.

When the victim said he wasn't a drug dealer, one of the men took out a knife and slashed him across his neck.

The victim fought off his attackers and ran into the nearby liquor store for help.

He was taken to hospital with serious, non life threatening injuries.

Police located and arrested the suspects nearby.

18-year-old Brandon Cody Joseph Leblanc of no fixed address and a 17-year-old who cannot be named are facing a number of charges.
