Calgary police are investigating the suspicious deaths of two people who were found in a northeast home on Monday morning.

Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Coventry Close NE at about 10:00 a.m. for a check on welfare and found the bodies of two women, one in her 50s and the other in her 20s, inside the home.

“It’s very early in the investigation so we’re going through a number of investigative processes. We’re talking to people in the community, family members, people who were familiar, friends and family of people that potentially may be involved,” said CPS Duty Inspector Ryan Ayliffe.

Autopsies are underway to identify the women and determine the cause of death and police say there is nothing to indicate the deaths were random.

“We want to make sure the integrity of the investigation remains intact and so there are processes we go through in every investigation to do that and as part of these processes, we feel confident in saying this was not a random attack,” said Ayliffe.

The Homicide Unit is investigating and police are asking anyone with information on the case to contact the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
