The Magic of Christmas went ahead on Tuesday despite fears there wouldn't be enough gifts to go around.

Volunteers pulled out all the stops to deliver hampers to hundreds of families in despair on December 24.

A few days ago, the charity had only about 60 percent of what it needed for the Christmas deliveries but generous Calgarians came through and by Tuesday morning all of the boxes were full and ready to be distributed.

Calgary Transit kicked in the use of 18 buses to deliver the goodies to families who just couldn’t afford it this year.

About 360 families and many more in care facilities will receive some Christmas spirit this year.

The charity has been making Christmas a little easier on Calgary families for the last 30 years.
