Adrian Walle has been sentenced to life with no chance of parole for 13 years.

The sentencing was handed down in court on Thursday afternoon.

Walle was sentenced in connection to the murder of Jeff Shuckburgh.

On January 7, 2004, Shuckburgh was gunned down in an alley behind the neighbourhood bar he owned. He was shot in the chest by Adrian Walle.

Walle was originally convicted of manslaughter but the crown appealed the conviction. After a second trial, Walle was found guilty of second-degree murder.

The crown was asking that Walle not be eligible for parole for 12 to 15 years; the defence was asking that Walle not be eligible for parole for 10 years.
