A woman who pushed a Calgary teen to his death on a C-Train platform three years ago was released from prison and granted day parole Thursday.

Natalie Pasqua will reside at a halfway house in Alberta. She must abstain from alcohol and drugs, and cannot associate with known criminals.

She was denied full parole.

The deadly shoving match between Pasqua and 17-year-old Gage Prevost, on Aug. 1, 2007, was over a $10 drug deal gone wrong.

Court heard that Prevost had pushed Pasqua off the platform onto the train tracks, but she got back onto the platform and the pair kept fighting.

Both parties continued to push each other until Prevost was shoved and caught between two cars where he was crushed to death.

A jury originally convicted Pasqua of second-degree murder and handed her a life sentence with no chance of parole for 12 years.

But in 2009, the Alberta Court of Appeal granted a new trial. Pasqua was convicted of manslaughter, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to another two years in prison.

Pasqua's sentence ends in December 2011.
