Calgary police are investigating the stabbing death of a man who was found in the northwest part of the city early Wednesday morning.

Just prior to 2:00 a.m., police responded to a 911 call from an apartment building in the 6400 block of Travois Place N.W. for a disturbance.

Officers found the body of a man on the second floor of the building.  The victim was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

A short distance away, police apprehended a man believed to be connected with the death.  The 'person of interest' is being questioned.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how the man died and what the circumstances were leading up to his death.

The building was blocked off for the investigation with a police officer guarding the entrance to the building.

The Medical Examiner concluded her investigation and the body has been removed from the premises.

Police say the two men knew each other and both resided in the building.

Neighbours say they aren't surprised by the incident in the area. According to them, the building was known for disturbances and suspicious activity.
