Calgary police are currently on scene in the northeast where a woman was found fatally injured.

They were called to the 200 block of Templegreen Drive N.E. at around 7:20 a.m. where they found the body of a woman on the stairway to a nearby townhouse building.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the death.

Police say that there is evidence that the woman may have been dragged by a vehicle.

They have the vehicle suspected to be involved and forensics units are searching it for clues.

One man is in custody and police don’t believe that anyone else was involved.

The woman and the man are reportedly related to one another and police are trying to determine what led up to the death, but they believe it to be the culmination of a domestic dispute.

Charges are expected to be laid in the near future.

This is the second death of a woman in the city in recent weeks.

On March 20, 19-year-old Polina Kazanceva was found dead in the 1600 block of 15 Ave. S.W. by a taxi driver working in the area.

According to a friend of hers, Kazanceva was living a high-risk lifestyle in Calgary after moving to the city from Toronto.

She had been living in the city for less than two weeks and was currently living in a motel.

The Medical Examiner says that she died due to blunt force trauma.

Police have no suspects in her death.
