The RCMP have shut down Highway 2 near Claresholm and they have confirmed that there is at least one suspicious death involved.
They are now confirming multiple deaths and are treating the scene as a murder scene.
Claresholm RCMP closed the highway three kilometres north and two kilometers south of the community at about 3:45 a.m. on Thursday.
Several range roads are also reported closed.
The incident began in the northbound lanes of the highway.
Reports from on scene say there are more than one body and two vehicles are involved.
STARS Air Ambulance have confirmed that they responded to Claresholm hospital early Thursday morning to transport a male patient listed in critical condition to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
