Police say watch out for canvasser
Calgary police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a woman who goes door-to- door canvassing for cancer-related charities.
Police say Shannon Cecilia Klus - who also goes by the names Shannon Best, Shannon Kurn or Natalie Brass - is wanted for fraud and forged documents.
For the past year, the woman has been knocking on doors in Calgary collecting money for The Weekend To End Breast Cancer, Run For The Cure and/or Shave-Your Lid For A Kid. None of the charities have seen the money she has collected.
Police say she tells people she is either a breast cancer survivor, has a family member who died from the disease, or has a grandchild who has recently been diagnosed with the disease.
Anyone who has given a donation to the woman is asked to call police. Likewise, anyone who knows where the woman might be should also call police. The best number to phone is Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
