RCMP need your help as they investigate a homicide in the community of Coleman in the Crowsnest Pass.
On Wednesday, September 9, RCMP say 69 year old Hannah Meketech was found dead near in home.
Police went to her residence after receiving a call from a concerned neighbour.
RCMP say an autopsy has determined her death to be a homicide but for investigative reasons her cause of death will not be released.
The news has left many in the community shaken.
“It’s quite shocking, “ says Karey Watanabe. “I just heard about it this morning.”
Another resident named Lil spoke to CTV News .“It’s very shocking. It’s less than two blocks away. It’s way too close to home.”
Terry Megli lived next door to Meketech for 25 years. “She was one of the first people we met. She was gentle. She was a good person and a sweet lady. She didn’t deserve this.”
Police continue their efforts to try to locate Meketech’s family.
