Environment Canada has issued weather warnings and watches for regions of Central and Southern Alberta as a storm with the potential for large hail and damaging winds is expected to arrive late Friday afternoon or early Friday evening.
As of 5:30 p.m., the following areas are under a severe thunderstorm warning:

- Red Deer-Ponoka-Innisfail-Stettler
- Rocky Mountain House-Caroline
- Cypress Hills Provincial Park-Foremost
- Lethbridge-Taber-Milk River
- Okotoks-High River-Claresholm
